About lisa

Lisa was in first grade the first time a teacher offered praise for her writing. By sixth grade, her family had procured an Apple ][ home computer and she started dashing off words daily and winning American Legion essay contests. Lisa continued her wordsmithing in college, graduating from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She spent several years in the newspaper business—as a writer, photographer, page designer and copy editor. In 1998, Lisa struck out on her own as a freelance word-maven-for-hire (so she could commute to work in her slippers via the coffeepot!). Since then, Lisa has written enough words to circle the earth 52 times if you stacked all of her sentences end-to-end. Lisa works with publishing companies, universities, magazines, local start-ups, multimedia conglomerates and emerging authors to produce magazine articles, business brochures, internal newsletters, encyclopedias, training modules, web content and technical manuals. Whatever your word needs, Lisa can string ’em together. With more than two decades of eXperience, she understands the necessity of having a well-worded website that is user friendly, emotive and on brand. Lisa is a word-stewing, coffee-quaffing, saxophone-blowing, bike-riding mother of three boys. When she is not attacking the keyboard, she can be found in the side yard playing catcher for her middle son as he perfects his two-seam fastball … or counting rhythms for the little cello-playing guy … or sending in tuition payments for the big guy. A foodie, Lisa loves local farm-fresh foods and can do freakishly fabulous things with kale.
