Do we need to replace our entire system, or can this integrate with what we already use?
Most of the time, integrate. A custom system is built to connect with the tools already in place — accounting software, existing databases, whatever the shop already relies on — rather than requiring a full rip-and-replace.
How long does a manufacturing workflow system typically take to build?
It depends on scope — a single-workflow starting point looks very different from a full production-to-order system. eXcelisys works in scoped phases, so the first working piece is usually in hand well before the whole system is built out.
Can this work offline on the shop floor if we don’t have reliable Wi-Fi?
Yes. Offline-capable workflows are a common requirement on manufacturing floors, and it’s something we design for from the start when it’s part of the brief.
Is this only for FileMaker, or can it be a web application instead?
FileMaker is one path — often a fast and flexible one — but not the only one. Depending on the workflow, a custom web application can be the better fit. That’s a conversation, not a default.
